ILMS students are trying out new gadgets and mastering their old favorites right now in the Media Center Makerspace.
The ILMS Makerspace was created two years ago
with help from a grant from the Logan County Education Foundation.
A Makerspace is a physical location where people gather to share resources and knowledge, work on projects, network and build.
Media Center Specialist Amy Richardson says students are excited to experiment with the brand new Marble Maze set, creating complicated pathways for the marble to flow.
Other
equipment includes
Keva Planks, Coloring Origams, K'Nex sets, Architectural design sets, Lego Simple and Powered Machine Sets, Lego StoryStarter, Magnetic Poetry, LittleBits Synth Kits and LittleBits STEAM Kits
Students in 7th and 8th grade are able to create in the Makerspace everyday during their study hall, if they so choose. Fifth and sixth graders may also experiment during periodic visits to the media center.
