8th Graders Schedule for ILHS!
Posted on 01/30/2024
We just began the second semester and already ILMS 8th graders are looking ahead to high school!
This year's 8th graders recently met with ILHS Counselor Greg Tuttle and ILMS Counselor Mandy Tidwell to get started on the scheduling process for next school year. They covered graduation requirements, explained physical education waivers and mapped out how to earn the credit hours needed to complete their high school education. The counselors also described ways that students can earn college credits, honors diplomas, and specific agriculture and/or business certificates prior to graduation. In addition, 8th graders will visit Ohio Hi Point Career Center this spring to get a sample of their career programs as a possible option for their Junior and Senior years of high school.
Each 8th grade student received an ILHS Course Worksheet and Course Booklet to take home and fill out with their parents. They should talk to their parents and teachers, then turn those course worksheets into their first period teachers as soon as possible. Over the next few weeks each student will meet with a counselor to go over his or her options for next school year and beyond.
All changes to class preferences must be made before summer break. Each student will get a list of classes they will have Freshman year before they leave ILMS in May. Schedules will be ready for pick up at Open House Night in August.
