After their recent field trip to the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum, ILMS 5th graders were inspired to learn even more about the Solar System.
As part of the annual 5th Grade Astronomy unit, students are required to make a model of their chosen planet. The models were then displayed in the cafeteria for everyone to inspect and enjoy during what they call "Planet-Palooza!"
Students learned about orbits, rotations, revolutions, atmospheres, axis angles and more. Students were also required to be able to place the planets in order from the Sun and identify which ones are rock planets and which ones are gas planets.
Awesome job, 5th graders!
