"Roxie" is a service-dog-in-training. She is a 9-month old mini-doodle and the personal pet of ILMS Secretary Danielle Even.
Roxie is periodically spending some socialization time in the office and getting acclimated to all the activities at school.
Right now, the dog is doing training at the K-9 Army Training Center at Home Away From Home in Huntsville to obtain her Canine Good Citizenship Certificate. Once she completes the training and certification, Roxie will be available to serve as an Emotional Support Animal at ILMS.
Even says she hopes to finish the training by the beginning of next school year.
The ILHS Key Club recently received a Mental Health Grant from Mary Rutan Health to support an Emotional Support Dog at the high school. "Sadie" will complete obedience training in the summer for 5 weeks at Dulebohn Dog Training in Wapak.
